Kudos to Ken!

51²è¹Ý¶ù Professor, Kenneth Nealson, has been selected by the American Society of Microbiology to receive an award that recognizes distinguished accomplishments in interdisciplinary research and training in microbiology. The 2010 David C. White Research and Mentoring Award will be awarded to Ken for his trail blazing work that began in the 1970s to bridge the geological and microbiological sciences.

At the 51²è¹Ý¶ù he is leading the Microbial and Environmental Genomics group and established the 51²è¹Ý¶ù Electromicrobiology team doing exciting research on microbial fuel cells with applications ranging from water purification to bioenergy.
